Regional Hearth Summits Gather and Share Poems
In February 2024, the hosts of the Regional Hearth Summits gathered in Madrid, Spain, to share in a community of learning and preparation for this year’s summit festivities. The first evening began with a sharing of stories and poems that resonated with each host. See below for the collection of these offerings.
In addition to reading poetry, we wrote poems together. Each person wrote one line at a time, without knowing what the lines written before or after were. Being creative and reflective together left us feeling inspired. We hope you do, too.
One of our collectively-written poems reads:
Gathering at the hearth, we warm ourselves, our hands and heart to
Together, we can
With more self love and less self doubt
Sometimes, I am scared of what the world has become
And remember, darkness is just the absence of light
AND TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT, WE CAN MAKE THE CHANGE
